Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Inference Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (I-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for OCD, intrusive thoughts, anxiety and trauma.
Most people who come to Resilient Mind Therapies have already spent a long time trying to make sense of what their mind is doing. They've googled their thoughts. They've tried to reason with them, push them away, or find reassurance that they're not as bad as they fear. And it keeps coming back.
That cycle of doubt, checking, and temporary relief that never quite lasts is something we understand well. Therapy isn't about telling you to think positively or just sit with discomfort. It's about helping you understand what's actually driving it, and finding a way out that makes sense to you.

OCD and anxiety are often misunderstood, by the people experiencing them as much as anyone else. You might have thoughts that feel deeply out of character. Doubts that stick no matter how many times you've checked or sought reassurance. A sense that something is fundamentally wrong, even when you can't quite say what. Or a mind that is exhausting to live with, even when your life on paper looks fine. These experiences are more common than people realise and they respond well to the right kind of therapy.

OCD, including intrusive thoughts, harm OCD, relationship OCD, and health anxiety that overlaps with OCD
For OCD we offer CBT with ERP, and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), so the approach can be matched to what suits you best.
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety and excessive worry
Specific phobias
We work with adults in person in Leicestershire and online across the UK
We offer a range of evidence-based treatments for OCD, including CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT).
ERP is the most established treatment for OCD and works by gradually helping you face feared situations without carrying out compulsions, reducing anxiety over time.
I-CBT is a newer approach, developed specifically for OCD, and one that not many therapists in the UK are currently trained to offer. Rather than starting with exposure, it focuses on the specific doubt at the heart of your OCD, the "what if" your mind returns to, and helps you understand where that doubt comes from and why your mind has learned to treat it as credible.
Many people find I-CBT makes sense to them in a way that other approaches haven't. It can be particularly helpful if you've tried ERP before and found it difficult, or felt like something was missing from previous treatment.
Resilient Mind Therapies is one of a small number of practices in the UK offering I-CBT alongside CBT and ERP for OCD.

We don't use a one-size-fits-all model. The approach we use, whether that's CBT, ERP, I-CBT or EMDR, is chosen based on what you're experiencing and what's likely to make sense for you.
What stays consistent is the way we work: responsive, unhurried, and focused on helping you understand what's happening rather than just managing symptoms.
Hi, I'm Kerry, a BABCP-accredited CBT and EMDR therapist based in Blaby, Leicestershire, and the founder of Resilient Mind Therapies.
I started this practice because I believe no one should be left waiting for support when they need it most. I've worked as a therapist in both NHS and private settings, and that experience shapes the way I work: warm and down to earth, but also rigorous and genuinely tailored to you.
I also work with a small team of associate therapists who share the same specialist focus, so if my availability doesn't suit you, there may still be a good option within the practice.
We provide evidence based therapy online to adults across the UK via video, or face to face sessions in Blaby, suitable for clients in the Leicester, Oadby, Wigston, Countesthorpe, Lutterworth, Broughton Astley or Market Harborough areas in Leicestershire . You choose the format that suits you best. If you’re not sure what kind of therapy you need, that’s okay, we’ll figure it out together.
This is not a large, faceless service
Resilient Mind Therapies is a small, specialist practice. We prioritise quality, consistency, and personal support. From your first enquiry you will receive a warm reply, clear guidance, and support that feels reliable throughout.
You will be working with experienced, BABCP-accredited therapists with specific expertise in OCD, anxiety and trauma.

Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) is a treatment developed specifically for OCD that focuses on the doubt that triggers OCD, the initial "what if", rather than the anxiety that follows it. Standard CBT for OCD often uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which involves gradually facing feared situations. I-CBT takes a different route, helping you understand why your mind has started to treat certain doubts as real and believable. Some people find it more accessible than ERP, particularly if they've struggled with exposure-based approaches before.
Yes. Intrusive thoughts are a common part of OCD and anxiety. Therapy helps you understand why they feel so real and how to respond differently so they have less impact on your daily life.
