Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that helps people process and recover from difficult or traumatic experiences. In this video, you’ll discover how EMDR works, why it’s recommended for PTSD and other trauma-related issues, and what to expect in a session. It’s explained in simple terms so you can see if EMDR might be the right approach for you.
Struggle with anxiety, depression, or phobias
Feel stuck in repetitive, unhelpful thought patterns
Have experienced trauma or distressing life events
Have tried other therapies but feel they haven’t fully met your needs

In EMDR, you’ll work with us in a safe, supportive environment. We’ll use guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation while you focus on aspects of a memory.
This helps your brain reprocess the memory so it no longer triggers the same level of distress. Many people notice positive changes within a few sessions, although the length of treatment varies depending on your unique needs and the complexity of your experiences.
At Resilient Mind Therapies, I offer CBT and EMDR in-person in Leicestershire and online. I also work with BABCP-accredited associate therapists across the UK who share the same values. Together, we provide effective, personalised therapy without long waits.
Sessions are available online or face-to-face, giving you flexibility to access support in the way that works best for you.
