The number of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or EMDR sessions required can vary significantly from person to person. At Resilient Mind Therapies, I understand that everyone's needs and goals are unique, which is why I take a personalised approach tailored to your specific circumstances and desired outcomes.
The duration of your therapeutic journey will depend on several factors, including the complexity of your concerns, the depth of work required, and the pace at which you wish to progress. Some individuals may find relief and achieve their objectives within a few sessions, while others may require more extended support to address deep-rooted patterns and establish lasting change.
Your initial assessment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if cognitive behavioral therapy or EMDR is the right approach for your needs. This comprehensive consultation allows you to share your concerns, personal history, and goals in a safe, non-judgmental space.
During the assessment, I will:
Explore Your Difficulties In-Depth
You'll have the chance to openly discuss the challenges you're facing and the impact they've had on your life. This deep understanding is essential for tailoring an effective treatment plan.
Discuss Treatment Options
Based on your unique circumstances, we'll explore the various therapeutic approaches available, including cognitive behavioral therapy techniques that could benefit you. You can ask any questions to gain clarity on the process.
Establish A Mutual Fit
The assessment allows you to get a feel for whether we would be a good fit for this journey together. You'll experience my therapeutic style and approach firsthand, ensuring comfort and trust from the start. There is no commitment to continue if it doesn't feel right for you.
Outline Next Steps
If we decide to move forward we will discuss logistics like session frequency, costs, and what to expect. If an alternative therapy seems better suited to your needs, I'll provide guidance on other avenues to explore.
The assessment is a two-way street – it's as much about you getting to know me as it is about me understanding you. My goal is to create an open, collaborative environment where we can determine the best path forward for your growth and well-being.
If we decide for any reason that an alternative therapy would better meet your needs, we will discuss this together and I can suggest different avenues.
Sessions are £80 and clients can choose to self fund. Fees for insurance-funded Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR may vary. I am happy to discuss fees based on individual insurance coverage. I collaborate with various health insurance providers, including AXA and Aviva. For clients using private healthcare or insurance schemes to cover their therapy sessions, please note that pricing structures may differ from our standard rates. This variation is often due to the additional administrative work required when processing insurance claims.
Sessions are 50 minutes but there may be times when we decide to lengthen this for therapeutic purposes.
Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly depending on your requirements. Frequency of EMDR sessions may differ but this can be discussed.
Your privacy is of utmost importance, and the details of your sessions will remain entirely confidential. I believe in creating a secure, non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts and experiences without concern. I adhere to the strictest confidentiality guidelines set by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).
However, there are limited exceptions to confidentiality that prioritise your safety and well-being. In the rare instances where I have reason to believe that you or someone else may be at risk of harm, or if legally mandated by a court order, I may be required to disclose certain information to the appropriate authorities.
Rest assured, any breach of confidentiality would only occur under these exceptional circumstances and would be handled with the utmost care, professionalism, and respect for your privacy.
